Description
This extension places an icon on the Writer toolbar to make it really easy to start the EPUB conversion process using the external non-commercial WordToEPUB app which is free to download and use.
Then with WordToEPUB you can design your cover, edit and add metadata, select the page markup technique, adjust the styles and fonts without touching the CSS.
WordToEPUB makes it really easy to make great EPUB files from word processors including LibreOffice Writer, Microsoft Word, Apple Pages or Google Docs. The best experience is with Writer and Word.
For quality assurance the tool can also guide you through steps to validate the EPUB for conformance and accessibility. It will help you download additional free tools if you do not have them installed.
The tool runs on Windows 7-10. LibreOffice Writer does not need to be installed to convert an odt file, but this is recommended.
The EPUB files created with this tool can be read on Windows, macOS, Android, iOS, Linux etc.

Eine Erweiterung, die nur unter Windows funktioniert, sollte nicht im Katalog der Erweiterungen sein. Der Download einer Zusatzsoftware ist indiskutabel.
An extension that only works under Windows should not be listed in the catalogue of extensions. The download of additional software is out of the question.

This is not an extension but it asks you to download an executable file which seems to be a standalone application.
I also uses the name of another extension that is a real extension.

This extension launches an external application, I have updated the description to make this clear.
It has a similar name to an extension that appear not to have been updated since 2015 and I don't think works any more. But try them out for yourself and see which works for you. Choice is a good thing.
WordToEPUB is used all around the world to make EPUB, HTML and Kindle files, I just wanted to bring some of that goodness to Writer. So for me the obvious title for the extension was WriterToEPUB, no harm intended. Peace.

It loads a Windows executable from https://daisy.org/activities/software/wordtoepub/installing-wordtoepub/. And the "original" extension is this one https://extensions.libreoffice.org/en/extensions/show/writer2epub
